Build your first roster
- Choose Start a new calendar. Your own calendar can begin locally without entering an email address.
- Open Templates. Add a job with its timezone, then a shift type with start/end times and breaks. Use the next-day setting for overnight shifts.
- Open Calendar and select a date. Use Add entry for a shift or appointment, or Paint shifts to apply a template to several dates.
- Review the selected day and the sync indicator. Local-only data is stored on that device; it is not yet a cloud backup.
Already using another calendar? Export a copy before importing or replacing anything.
Back to guides ↑Enable sync and add another device
- In Settings, choose Enable sync. Save the generated account ID and recovery password in a password manager or another secure place.
- On your new device, choose Connect an existing calendar and enter your account ID. Request approval from a trusted device.
- On the trusted device, open Device requests. Compare the challenge shown on both devices before approving.
- Check that the new device appears under Trusted devices. Remove access for a device you no longer use.
Do not approve an unfamiliar request. An account ID identifies a calendar; it is not a password.
Back to guides ↑Recover when no trusted device remains
- Open Connect an existing calendar on the replacement device and choose the recovery option.
- Enter both the account ID and the recovery password from your saved kit. The account ID alone cannot recover your calendar.
- Save the new recovery kit returned after recovery. Recovery rotates the password and revokes older devices.
- Reapprove any devices you still want to use. Check your calendar before discarding older backups.
If you lose every approved device and the recovery password, there is no email-reset shortcut. Keep the recovery kit safe.
Back to guides ↑Pair without sharing your login
- Each person keeps their own account. In Together, enter the other person’s account ID and send a pairing request.
- The other person reviews and accepts the request. Choose schedule details or availability only as the sharing scope.
- Set how far ahead your roster is complete, your awake hours and travel buffers. Ask the other person to do the same.
- Review the shared windows in Together. Use pastel or grayscale to keep the two schedules visually distinct.
Pairing is different from adding your own device. Never give a partner your recovery password to share a calendar.
Back to guides ↑Why a shared window is missing
- Check both confirmed coverage ranges. Time beyond either person’s published roster is unknown, even if the calendar looks empty.
- Check awake hours, work, busy appointments and travel buffers. A break inside a shift does not automatically create shared leisure time.
- Confirm both people still grant access and that the partner view refreshed successfully. Offline or expired partner data cannot prove availability.
- Review your timezone and the requested date range. Overnight shifts and daylight-saving changes can span different local dates.
A shared window is calculated from the information you both provide. It is not an assumption that you want to make a plan.
Back to guides ↑Back up, export and import your data
- In Settings, use Download backup for a JSON copy of your own calendar data. Store it somewhere private.
- Use ICS for calendar interchange, CSV for a spreadsheet, or a print/PDF view for a readable document. These formats serve different purposes; CSV is not a full account backup.
- When importing ICS, CSV or JSON, inspect the preview before confirming. Check dates, timezone, overnight entries and matching shift templates.
- Keep the original file until you have reviewed the result. Partner schedules and device/recovery credentials are not part of your calendar export.
PDF exports are visual documents and are not fully tagged accessible PDFs. Use CSV or the in-app agenda when that better meets your needs.
Back to guides ↑Offline edits and conflicting changes
- Your own entries remain editable after the app has loaded. The sync indicator shows changes waiting to upload.
- Reconnect and let synchronization finish. Avoid clearing browser storage while it contains the only copy of unsynced work.
- If the same item changed on another device, inspect the conflict. Preserve your draft as a copy or choose the server version.
- Before switching accounts, export important local data. Drafts stay bound to their original account instead of being uploaded into another calendar.
Partner views are temporary online projections. Your own offline calendar does not create a permanent copy of a partner’s schedule.
Back to guides ↑End a sharing connection
- Open the connection in Together and choose the removal action. Review the confirmation.
- When online, the server revokes that relationship; the other person’s own calendar remains theirs.
- If you are offline, reconnect and complete the removal. Do not assume access has ended until the server confirms it.
- Remember that removal cannot erase screenshots or copies somebody already made.
Removing a partner connection does not require their permission or a premium subscription.
